Account Numbers
A valid Bocsit account number is required for all credit transactions. Account numbers are non-transferable and must be kept confidential. The account holder is responsible for all charges incurred on their account number until Bocsit receives written notice of its compromise or cancellation.
Address Correction
If a recipient's address is found to be incomplete or incorrect, Bocsit will attempt to find the correct address and complete the delivery. An additional fee will be assessed for address correction. If the correct address cannot be determined or if the recipient is not at the address, the shipment will be returned to the shipper at the shipper's expense.
Billing Terms
Invoices are issued weekly or bi-weekly depending on volume. Payment is due upon receipt. Disputes regarding invoice charges must be submitted in writing within 15 days of the invoice date. Failure to dispute charges within this timeframe constitutes acceptance of the invoice.
Business Days & Holidays
"Business Days" are defined as Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding federal holidays. Service performed outside of these hours is subject to After-Hours or Holiday surcharges.
Cancellation and Refunds
Orders may be cancelled without penalty if the driver has not yet been dispatched. If a driver has already been dispatched or is en route to the pickup location, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the base rate or a minimum charge (whichever is greater) will apply. Refunds for prepaid services will be processed within 7-10 business days.
Claims
Claims for lost or damaged shipments must be filed in writing within 15 days of the delivery date (or scheduled delivery date for lost items). No claims will be processed until all transportation charges have been paid in full. The claimant must provide original packaging for inspection in damage claims.
Collect On Delivery (COD)
Bocsit does not offer Collect on Delivery (COD) services for shipment charges or goods value unless explicitly arranged in a separate written agreement. Drivers are not authorized to collect cash for goods delivered.
Consumables and Food
Perishable items, including food and catering, must be packaged in insulated containers with sufficient refrigerants to maintain temperature for the duration of the trip plus 2 hours. Bocsit is not liable for spoilage due to traffic delays or improper packaging.
Credit Terms
Credit privileges are extended at Bocsit's sole discretion. Standard terms are Net 30 days. Accounts past due are subject to a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% per annum). We reserve the right to revoke credit privileges at any time.
Dangerous Goods
Shippers must declare all dangerous goods and hazardous materials. Bocsit accepts only limited quantities of specific hazard classes in accordance with DOT regulations. Undeclared hazardous materials will be refused, and the shipper will be liable for all costs and damages associated with the shipment. See our Restricted Goods page for details.
Declared Value & Limits of Liability
Bocsit's liability is limited to $100.00 per shipment unless a higher value is declared at the time of booking and an additional valuation charge is paid. The maximum declared value is $5,000 per shipment. Declared value is not insurance coverage.
Extra-Large Packages
Packages exceeding 75 lbs or 108 inches in combined length and girth may require special handling or a larger vehicle type (Van/Truck). Additional charges apply. Shippers must inform dispatch of such items at the time of booking.
Fuel Surcharge
A fuel surcharge is applied to all transportation charges. This surcharge is indexed to the regional average price of fuel and is adjusted monthly.
Guarantee
Service guarantees (e.g., "1-Hour Rush") are subject to traffic and weather conditions. If a guaranteed service level is missed due to Bocsit's error, the charge will be downgraded to the next service level actually performed. No refunds are issued for delays caused by "Acts of God" or circumstances beyond our control.
Holiday Service
Services provided on federal holidays are subject to availability and holiday surcharges. Holidays observed include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Inspection
Bocsit reserves the right to open and inspect any package tendered for transport to ensure safety and compliance with law.
Liabilities Not Assumed
Bocsit shall not be liable for any loss, damage, delay, mis-delivery, or non-delivery caused by:
- Acts of God, public enemies, public authorities, or force majeure.
- The nature of the shipment or any defect, characteristic, or inherent vice thereof.
- Violation by the shipper or recipient of any of these terms and conditions.
Methods of Payment
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), corporate checks (for account holders), and ACH transfers. Cash payments are not accepted by drivers.
Multiple-Package Shipments
Multiple packages shipped to the same destination at the same time may be consolidated under one waybill for rating purposes, provided they are compatible and can be physically handled together.
Packaging and Marking
All shipments must be prepared and packed by the shipper to ensure safe transportation. Each package must be legibly marked with the name, address, and phone number of both the shipper and the recipient.
Privacy Policy
Bocsit is committed to protecting your privacy. We use shipment information only to perform the requested services. We do not sell or share customer data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Proof of Delivery
Electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) including signature and timestamp is available for all shipments. PODs can be accessed via our online portal or requested from customer service.
Rate Quotations
Rate quotations are estimates based on the information provided by the shipper. Final charges are based on actual weight, dimensions, and service performed. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
Re-Delivery Service
If a delivery cannot be completed because the recipient is unavailable or the address is incorrect, and a re-delivery attempt is requested, a re-delivery charge equal to the original delivery charge may apply.
Refusal or Rejection of Shipments
Bocsit reserves the right to refuse any shipment that, in our judgment, is likely to soil, taint, or otherwise damage other shipments or equipment, or which is economically or operationally impracticable to transport.
Regular Stop Pick-Up
Discounted rates may be available for customers who schedule regular, recurring pickups (e.g., daily mail runs). These arrangements are subject to a separate written agreement.
Restrictions
Size and weight restrictions apply based on the vehicle type requested. Please consult with dispatch for items exceeding 8 feet in length or 2,000 lbs.
Routing and Re-Routing
Bocsit has sole discretion in selecting the route and method of transportation. We may deviate from standard routes to avoid traffic or weather delays.
Saturday & Sunday Delivery
Weekend delivery service is available by request. Additional surcharges apply for Saturday and Sunday services.
Service
Bocsit provides point-to-point courier and delivery services. We act as a contract carrier and reserve the right to refuse service to any person or entity.
Service Areas
Our primary service area covers the Greater Boston Metropolitan Area and surrounding New England states. Long-distance service is available by special arrangement.
Undeliverable Packages
Packages that cannot be delivered and cannot be returned to the shipper will be held for 30 days. After 30 days, Bocsit may dispose of the property in accordance with applicable laws.
Vehicle Types
Shippers must request a vehicle of appropriate size for their shipment (Car, SUV, Cargo Van, Box Truck). If a vehicle arrives and the shipment does not fit, a "Dry Run" fee will be charged.
Warranties
Bocsit makes no warranties, express or implied, other than those expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions.
